#Monthly running challenge code
Please ensure that you read and observe this code of conduct to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone. PLEASE DISPLAY YOUR NUMBER ON THE FRONT OF YOUR RUNNING TOP AT ALL TIMES. WHERE RUNNERS DO NOT WEAR THEIR NUMBER CORRECTLY - THEY MAY NOT GET A TIME. The position the runners cross the finishing line is how ALL results are calculated. The chip time is only used for personal use. The sport has rules that are consistent and used in all countries/races that follow the World governing body rules.

The race results/positions are always based on the GUN time NOT the chip time - this is standard across all official running events across the world. Your race number should be attached to your running top at all four corners and be visible throughout the race (including start and finish). When the race is chip timed, your race/bib number will have a foam strip with the chip underneath - Do not remove or damage the foam or chip. This allows us to guarantee a finish time Sometimes chips are not picked up for reasons outside our control (the chip didn't work or was covered up by clothing or was wet/damaged), in these cases we may have to refer to our video (GoPro) at the finish to manually identify runners. I mean why wouldn't you want to gauge your progress.RUN NATION will always endeavour the produce your results with Chip Timing.
#Monthly running challenge trial
If covid guidelines permit, we have a final jog and celebrations (brunch?) at the end.įollowing each month challenge we have a 5K Time Trial to help you track your progress. Let the power of the group and spreadsheet help you get out and be active. We'll add you to the Run-athon Spreadsheetįrom the 1st - 30th (31st) you run on your own and/or with the group.Įverytime you run, you add your run into our tracking spreadsheet and it automatically calculates your total for the month and how much more you need to go. theres something oddly satisfying about getting a kangaroo badge for running 100K in a month. They're silly and have no monetary value, which is why it is mind-boggling that they're actually motivating. We have silly digital badges to recognize people that have done the challenge multiple times and hit certain distances. So the group is great at supporting each other.

We are all supportive and understand that somedays it's just tough to get out. Social Run Club is very lucky to have an amazing member base. When you add in your runs, it automatically totals your monthly mileage and tracks your completion vs the days left to help you stay on track. It's for fun, so it's on the honour system. We have a very sophisticated google spreadsheet that we all track our runs in. It's pretty simple and it gets us all out there. We get it, we're human beings playing life too! Maybe run is your top priority and you want to hold fast, but for most of us running isn't meant to add additional stress, so adjust and do your best. Life comes up and thats part of setting any goal.

The best part is that you're more than welcome to change your goal throughout the month. We're all just interested in getting more active and supporting each other. There is no comparing, all of our members are at different levels with different priorities and different commitments for the specific month. This is a fun social group, so your goal is something that can challenge you but not something that is going to destroy you. You don't even need to be in Vancouver to participate. Choose either a distance or time you'd like to run or exercise throughout the month.
#Monthly running challenge free
